ncbrmbBurr Ridge, Ill. (February 8, 2018) – The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today the launch of its Certification Board elections. Eligible voters have until Feb. 21, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time to participate.

“Our Slate Selection Commission has been hard at work for months to present the most qualified candidates for election. We are thrilled the time has finally come for our community to cast their vote,” commented Teresa M. Matthews, president. “The Certification Board reaffirms NCB’s unwavering commitment to Certification and its value to clients, colleagues, and our profession. The individuals up for election represent a dedicated, energetic group sure to bring a fresh perspective and complementary skills to further advance the credential and NCB’s mission.”

The professionals and proposed terms up for NCBTMB Certification Board election are as follows:

  • Grant J. Rich, Ph.D., BCTMB, LMT – Practitioner Member
  • Nathan Nordstrom, LMT, LMP, BCTMB – Practitioner Member
  • Portia B. Resnick, Ph.D., ATC, LMT, BCTMB – Practitioner Member
  • Kia H. Countess, DNP, MSN, RN, CNE – Public Member

The NCBTMB Certification Board is responsible for all aspects of the achievement of Board Certification, including developing certification criteria and examinations, evaluating candidates for certification, and maintaining the integrity of the certification process. The Certification Board ensures that NCBTMB maintains its status as an accredited certifying body within the massage therapy profession.

All eligible voters as of Feb. 1, 2018 will receive login and ballot information via email no later than Feb. 8, 2018. Voting closes Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

Election results to be released in March 2018.
