I left the country in 2003 and when I returned in 2006 massage franchises had taken off. I have a small private practice in my home so I wasn’t sure how this might affect me. However, I find that what I offer is much different from the franchise. My clients get consistent work from the same therapist with each session in a much more personal environment. I end up getting clients that used to go to the franchise that are looking for more skilled work. The bottom line is that more people are getting touched and receiving massage which can only be good for the profession as a whole.
