I have been an outcall therapist for five years. Word-of-mouth referrals from existing clients have always been the safest route for new clients. However, when talking to a new, unknown client for the first time, I always ask specific questions about what type of massage they prefer, how deep of pressure and I tell them to fill out medical history forms. It is professional and to the point. If for any reason I suspect they want something of a sexual nature, I add a comment like, “Please be sure to read through our policy on the bottom of the page. It covers lateness, sexual harassment and insurance policies.” I make sure they have signed their initials in the appropriate spots to know they have read the entire paragraph. I always send out the welcome packet before their scheduled massage.
