ncbrmbBurr Ridge, Ill. (April 24, 2017)—The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today that all approved providers must state course type on all certificates of completion and achievement, effective immediately.

One of the following course types must be declared on all certificates of completion and achievement:

  • Live Course
  • Home Study
  • Live Webinar (Note: Any pre-recorded webinar replayed a second time is considered a home study course)

“In the spirit of collaboration between organizations, state boards, and Approved Providers, NCBTMB now requires every certificate of completion and achievement to display course type,” explained Donna Sarvello, vice president of educational support. “This change is the result of an overwhelming request from state boards, as many cannot easily identify whether courses have been taught in a live setting or as a home study. This is increasingly important as many states require a specific amount of live course hours for licensure renewal. As the nation’s CE approval body, NCBTMB welcomes this vital addition to all certificates to further serve our profession.”

NCBTMB provides template certificates of completion and achievement for any CE provider to utilize on the NCBTMB Resource Center: shop.ncbtmb.org/formstools/
