New, free app for iPhone® & iPod® touch offers healthy, easy cooking & shopping options
Norway, Iowa (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 28, 2009 — In a pinch for time, but still want to give your family a healthy homemade meal? If you’ve got an iPhone® or iPod® touch, Simply Organic® just made it easier for you. Available free from the iTunes® store, Simply Organic® has just launched a recipe application that allows users to search for recipes by categories, ingredients, and a host of other criteria. The application generates shopping lists from selected recipes, and you can even get directions to the nearest location where Simply Organic products are sold.
“Anyone can browse and search more than 1,100 professionally created recipes, toggling between a user-friendly shopping format, and a cooking format that shows easy-to-follow instructions, nutrition facts and, in some cases, chef suggestions to further spice up the recipe,” remarks Kory Kazimour, senior brand manager for Simply Organic. “Our nutritious, convenient-to-make and affordable recipes appeal to cooks of all experience levels,” adds Kazimour, “and this exciting new recipe application allows them to search for recipes in a variety of ways, and rate each recipe according to how well it’s liked.”
Users can browse popular recipe collections, from Healthy Kids to Vegetarian Main Dishes, and then flip from recipe to recipe. You can filter your recipe search by what you already have stocked in your fridge, by what ingredients are in season, or by keyword. Sort by ease of preparation, cooking time, or by favorites. Best of all, as recipes are selected and the shopping list generated, users can check off items as they shop.
The app also generates recipe suggestions randomly with a spin of the iPhone/iPod touch. “Coming up with new ideas for feeding the family doesn’t come easily for most people,” says Kazimour. “So a random-drawing feature presents a simple and fun solution to that dilemma.”
A special shopping feature of the application is the ability to email yourself coupons for any Simply Organic product so you can print them before you head to the store. “We hope the coupons encourage folks to try out new and exotic herbs and spices from around the world,” Kazimour points out.
Perhaps the best feature is the ongoing addition of new recipes. Kazimour anticipates that Simply Organic will add an average of 80 new recipes monthly, beginning in October. Those new recipes are automatically added for free.
